Holly Buchanan of Copyblogger wrote an excellent post on Monday about the power of using personas in your copy. I’m not going to re-write the whole article here, as Holly does such a good job of explaining it, but I’d highly suggest you visit Copyblogger and check out that article. After you’ve read that article, think about how you can apply it not only to your website copy, but also to your products, ebooks, and even your print book. How can you use personas to make your business stand out and be different in an over-crowded marketplace? Are you stereotyping your market? As you think about the different personas you can develop for your target market you may be able to come up with different products and services that are focused and targeted at that specific niche of your target market. These products in turn will both increase your credibility and your profits as you meet the specific needs of seperate segments of your target market. What personas can you use to write better copy to your target market? Post your ideas in the comments. Tags In This Post:
We all know that blogging regularly is a powerful tool for the internet marketer. Not only does blogging provide the readers with free content, strengthening the blogger’s relationship with his perspectvie clients, but blogs also make great search engine bait. As great as blogging is however, it has it’s draw backs. One of the most common of these is knowing what to write that will engage your target audience. Recently Brian Clark of Copyblogger wrote a powerful article addressing just this subject, and offering four easy ways to create innovative content. These ideas range from simply encouraging comments (you all do that already right?) to adding multimedia elements to your blog posts. Perhaps some of Brian’s most powerful suggestions deal with interacting with your readers live on the blog for the rest of the community to see. What if you took some time a couple days a week to answer common questions you recieve in public on your blog instead of privately via e-mail? Obviously this isn’t applicable in every situation, but in many cases it can not only provide you with a powerful topic to write about that is important to your target market, it can save you time too. By making the answers to common questions public on your blog you can provide great content to your target market and save yourself the time of writing individual answers to everyone who asks. How do you use your blog to interact with your target market, and perhaps even make your life a little easier? Tags In This Post: |
